Job summary

Addus HomeCare is hiring an entry-level Direct Support Professional in the Tennessee area. You will learn fundamentals of quality home care and support seniors and individuals with disabilities living independently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus one year in-home care experience.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with limited supervision.
• Good communication skills and being well-organized.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring).
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.
