Job summary

Mary Cariola Center in New York State is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional. The position requires a valid NYS driver’s license and eligibility to work evenings and weekends, with pay per diem of $18.75.

You will encourage residents’ participation in habilitation plans, assist with daily living activities, support communication through sign language and pictograms, help with community outings, and maintain thorough documentation using PrecisionCare software while adhering to HIPAA

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Must possess a current and valid NYS driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to participate in various physical activities and community outings.

Responsibilities

Facilitate active participation of residents by implementing habilitation plans in family homes, respite and community.
Engage in lifting, moving and positioning tasks as needed.
Promote self-care and activities of daily living.
Support communication using sign language, pictograms and electronic devices.
Assist with recreational activities and community outings.
Complete documentation accurately using PrecisionCare software and written forms when necessary.
Follow HIPAA confidentiality laws and Code of Ethics for DSPs.
Attend staff meetings and training as required.
