Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a full-time 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:00pm–10:30pm, with EOW 8:00am–8:00pm as needed) to support individuals with disabilities. The role emphasizes person-centered planning, community integration, and compassionate care.

The DSP will provide individualized support, assist with daily living activities, facilitate transportation, and help individuals pursue personal goals while maintaining safety and privacy.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals who have intellectual, developmental, mental health, or substance use challenges.
• Demonstrates empathy, patience, and respect in all interactions.
• Knowledge of disability rights, self-advocacy, and community integration principles is preferred.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow regulatory guidelines.
• Willingness to learn and apply person-centered plans and supports.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for individuals’ human, legal, and civil rights.
• Promote health and safety by supporting wellness initiatives and accident prevention.
• Encourage self-advocacy and empower individuals in making their own choices.
• Facilitate community engagement by accompanying individuals to work, recreation, and social events.
• Teach and support independent living skills, including household management and personal care.
• Provide transportation for appointments, errands, and community activities.
• Foster social connections by supporting relationship-building within the community.
• Support informed decision-making regarding living arrangements, employment, and social activities.
• Assist with personal care tasks, such as hygiene, bathing, dressing, and household chores.
• Maintain accurate documentation of provided services and support.
• Connect individuals with community resources for career development, education, and volunteer opportunities.
