Job summary

Lifetime Assistance, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional for Day Services in Rochester, NY. This full-time, on-site position runs Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm, with starting wage $20.52 per hour.

The role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, promoting independence and safety. Training is provided with opportunities for growth and a caring, mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and dependable personality.
• No prior experience required—paid training provided.
• Ability to read and follow service plans and safety protocols.
• Basic computer skills for documentation in EHR.
• Effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and personal care, including hygiene, bathing, grooming, toileting, oral care, dressing, and personal safety.
• Promote independence by teaching and supporting self-help and social skills.
• Administer medications (if certified) and monitor health needs.
• Ensure safety and well-being at all times; report concerns of abuse, neglect, or mistreatment immediately.
• Implement support plans (SAP, IPOP, BSP, PONS) and document progress in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Support individuals in community activities, social relationships, and meaningful experiences.
