Qualifications

• Previous experience in home care or with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as needed.
• Knowledge of patient care techniques and first aid procedures.
• Familiarity with hospice care principles is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals.
• Promote independence and encourage participation in community activities.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Document and report any changes in behavior or health status.
• Adhere to resident rights and maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
• Assist with transportation to medical appointments, outings, or other scheduled activities.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
