Job summary

Kindly Direct Care in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional to support two individuals in Monmouth County. Case 1 is a higher-acuity assignment for a 31-year-old blind person, with 2 large dogs in the home; Case 2 supports a 24-year-old high-functioning individual with daily activities and community outings.

The DSP will provide close one-to-one supervision, follow individualized protocols, assist with routines and community participation, and communicate with the care

Qualifications

• Prior experience in DSP, CNA, HHA, behavioral health, direct care, complex care, or a similar high-support role preferred.
• Strong reliability, judgment, communication and ability to follow detailed protocols.
• Driving is required.
• Ability to complete all required training and competency requirements before working independently.
• Ability to meet physical requirements for the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide close one-to-one supervision and safety monitoring.
• Provide support as required.
• Follow individualized behavioral, medical, health, and safety protocols within DSP scope and training.
• Support communication, routines, community participation, and independence.
• Use approved support strategies consistently and calmly.
• Recognize and promptly report changes in health, behavior, functioning, or safety.
• Respond appropriately to urgent concerns and follow emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and dependable communication with the care team.
