Job summary

Crest Services in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Direct Support Professional Mentor to provide direct support, supervision, and protective oversight to individuals served, promoting independence and personal goal achievement.

You will onboard, train, and mentor new DSPs in your house, collaborate with the Team Lead on staffing, and serve as a liaison with families and administration to ensure consistent, high-quality care. A 21+ age, valid driver's license, and English fluency are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience and direct care for persons with disabilities or seniors.
• Must be 21 years or older and able to read, write, and speak English.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance in the state of employment.
• Medication Management Administration certificate within 90 days of hire.
• Active Mandatory Reporter Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support, supervision, and protective oversight to individuals served.
• Promote member independence and support achievement of personal goals.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensuring safety and dignity.
• Onboard, train, and mentor new Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) assigned to your house.
• Collaborate with Team Lead or Assistant Manager on staffing, attendance, and performance issues.
• Act as a liaison between families, administration, and individuals served to ensure consistent, quality care.
• Maintain strong communication and leadership within the team.
• Support a positive and professional team culture focused on person-centered care.
