Job summary

Genentech in California seeks a Materials Science Technical Specialist/Expert to lead material topics across PT manufacturing and distribution, applying material science and data-driven knowledge to solve complex problems for a robust supply chain.

You will work with drug substance, drug product and/or small molecule processes, driving fit-for-purpose material solutions and strategic improvements in robustness, speed, efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Science or Engineering with at least 4 years in pharma/biopharma/medical device industry.
• Expertise in raw materials and material science with focus on pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to standardize materials and implement material-related processes (including single-use tech).
• Assess process performance at network and portfolio level to improve robustness, speed, efficiency, safety and sustainability of materials.
• Represent PT as material expert to suppliers and during external visits/audits.
• Lead projects on material lifecycle management, standardization and new material implementation.
• Collaborate with site and global functions to identify materials or alternate sources.
• Support regulatory compliance through fit-for-purpose material solutions.
