Job summary

SGS Consulting is seeking a procurement specialist to monitor supplier performance, support strategic buyers, and manage vendor data in SAP. You will lead open order reviews, handle escalations, and assist with supplier negotiations for low-value contracts.

The role requires a High School diploma, strong procurement knowledge, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP. On-site work in Sacramento, with collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement and purchasing of direct materials.
• Familiarity with SAP ERP and MS Office.
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track supplier performance for strategic buyers and category managers.
• Support implementation of supplier changes and initiatives led by Central Category managers.
• Collaborate with procurement to ensure vendor master data and contracts are in SAP and up to date.
• Manage Level 2 vendor escalations including expediting, MRP issues, PO confirmations, pricing, and shipping.
• Oversee vendor performance improvements and resolve returns (RMA, cost recovery, replacements).
• Lead open order reviews with vendors and assist AP inquiries.
• Support onboarding of new raw materials, lead RFx processes, and supplier negotiations for low-value contracts.
• Train junior colleagues and supervise teammates as needed.
