Job summary

CCS Construction Staffing is hiring an experienced HVAC Commissioning Technician for a direct hire with a leading MEP contractor. You will test, validate and commission electrical and HVAC systems on complex commercial, healthcare and industrial projects.

The role involves field testing, documenting results, and ensuring compliance with IEEE, NEMA and NETA standards while following site safety rules. You will work with a safety‑conscious team on multi‑discipline projects.

Qualifications

• Trade school or technical education completed.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, automation and power systems.
• Experience with LV, MV, and HV equipment.
• 4+ years resolving operational or construction issues.
• Understanding of NETA testing standards.
• NICET Electrical Power Testing Level II or eligible within 1 year.
• OSHA-30 and NFPA 70E or willing to obtain within 6 months.
• Good computer and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks.
• Clean background for high-security sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Execute commissioning plans and document results.
• Review test procedures and ensure IEEE, NEMA, NETA standards compliance.
• Conduct visual inspections, testing, and system diagnostics.
• Witness factory and subcontractor testing as required.
• Collect data and support project planning and development.
• Prepare daily reports and commissioning documentation.
• Install, test, repair, or replace equipment as needed.
• Set up and operate advanced testing equipment.
• Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E and site safety requirements.
