Job Description: Direct Care Staff at Dreams and Visions

Do you want to help empower young women to overcome obstacles and accomplish their goals? Join our team to prepare adolescents with essential skills for their future.

At Dreams and Visions, we seek individuals passionate about fostering an environment where children and adolescents reach their full potential. Our core beliefs emphasize providing support without fostering dependence on "the system."

The Direct Care Staff are responsible for creating a positive, growth-oriented atmosphere supporting clients with mental health and behavioral challenges. They aim to strengthen lives and empower young women to utilize their innate talents and abilities, helping them become valued community members.

Our team approach involves the child, their parents or guardians, staff, and additional agency personnel working together to achieve personalized goals outlined in the Person-Centered Plan.

Shift Information

This role involves shift work, with hours including:

  • Monday-Friday: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, 2:30 pm - 10:00 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, 11:00 pm - 7:00 am
  • Every other weekend required

All shifts are vital to the success of our clients and organization.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the health and safety of all clients
  • Organize and implement engaging activities to promote independence
  • Accurately document client progress towards goals
  • Build supportive relationships and demonstrate empathy to influence positive decisions
  • Advocate for client needs proactively
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, or related field preferred
  • Relevant coursework in Trauma-informed Care, Crisis Intervention, Positive Behavior Support
  • Experience with adolescents in residential settings is a plus
Physical and Additional Requirements

Must maintain physical ability to manage safety during violent or self-harming incidents, including physical interventions if necessary.

Must possess a valid NC driver's license with a good record, demonstrate effective self-regulation, be coachable, and pass drug and background screenings.
