Job Description

Promotes and fosters independent functioning, mature peer relationships, and responsible decision-making.

Responsibilities
  1. Assists in house meetings to cover topics like menu planning, chore assignment, peer dispute resolution, and recreational planning.
  2. Provides immediate intervention to defuse potentially volatile situations between residents.
  3. Helps residents keep their scheduled appointments.
  4. Assists residents with menu planning, shopping, and cooking.
  5. Participates in the admission and orientation of new residents.
  6. Completes all required documentation daily.
  7. Communicates important information to supervisors and briefs staff for the next shift.
  8. Overnight staff must stay awake and alert throughout their shifts.
  9. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience with SED/MMR adolescents is desirable.
  • Valid and clean NYS Driver License.
  • Acceptable background clearance through State Central Register and compliance with health regulations.
  • Successful completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training, including physical restraint competency, with ongoing refreshers.
