Job description

Direct Care Worker – Butler County | Multiple Positions Open!

Anova Health Care Services, Inc. - Butler

Good home care work should feel like more than a checklist. You walk into someone's home, and for a few hours you're the reason their day goes smoothly - the meal that's ready, the clean room, the walk they looked forward to, the conversation that breaks up a quiet afternoon.

That's the job. And we're hiring several people to do it.

Work where and when it works for you

We have openings across a range of locations - so instead of forcing you into one assignment, we do it the other way around.

Hours flex around your availability too, so you can build a schedule that fits the rest of your life. Your job shouldn't be the thing you plan everything else around.

What you’ll actually do

You’ll Support Consumers With The Everyday Tasks That Let Them Stay Safely And Comfortably In Their Own Homes, Following a Care Plan Built By The Staff Coordinator. Day To Day, That Looks Like

  • Planning and preparing meals that fit each consumer's dietary needs
  • Light housekeeping that keeps the home safe and comfortable - bed linens, dusting, vacuuming, kitchen and bathroom, laundry
  • Personal care done with dignity: bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, hair care, and toileting
  • Helping with walking and movement when a consumer uses a walker or other aid
  • Companionship that matters - reading together, walks, and getting to appointments
  • Grocery runs and errands when they're needed

You’ll report any change in a consumer's condition to your staff coordinator, and you're never working without backup - you're supervised and scheduled by the agency team, so you always know who to call.

A couple of things this job is not. You won't be cutting anyone's fingernails or toenails, and you won't be doing heavy labor - no oven cleaner, no moving furniture or appliances, no heavy snow shoveling, no ladders. The work is personal and steady, not backbreaking.

Pay and hours

Reimbursement is based on your experience, and hours flex around your personal availability and patient needs.

Clients are located all throughout the Butler County and neighboring counties, but we actively try to match DCWs with clients who are closest in proximity.

What You'll Need
  • To be at least 18 years old
  • Reliable transportation to and from your assignments
  • The physical ability to handle the daily tasks of the role
  • To read, write, understand, and speak English
  • Mature, responsible judgment and a real respect for consumer privacy
  • Willingness to complete our employment process and follow the care plan
Growing on the job

We invest in our workers. You'll complete 20 hours of in-service education each year, plus our six-topic annual training, so you're always supported and never guessing.

Why people stay at Anova

Home care companies come and go. A lot of them are backed by investors who've never met a caregiver, and it shows in how workers get treated. We're built differently.

  • Independently and family owned. Decisions get made by people who know this business and know our workers - not a distant corporate office chasing a quarterly number.
  • 20 years in home care. We've been caring for patients across Western Pennsylvania for two decades. That's not a startup figuring it out as it goes - it's a track record, and it means steady work that's still here next year.
  • A wide range of business lines. Hospice, home health, and palliative care - which means more stability, more opportunity, and more places for the right people to grow with us.
  • A culture that actually shows up. We host employee events twice a year and back it with real benefits, because the people doing the work should feel like part of something, not like a name on a schedule.

We're small enough to know our workers by name and established enough to keep you busy.
