Job summary

Heartland Girls Academy is a Christian boarding school in Alabama seeking energetic, compassionate, and responsible team players to live on campus and care for at-risk teenage girls aged 12–17 in a residential setting.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, spiritual growth for students and staff, and a culture of professional development. On-campus housing is provided as part of the position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
• All applicants must successfully complete a background check.
• Must demonstrate mature and Godly character consistent with Heartland Academy’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in a residential setting and monitor health, safety, care and wellbeing.
• Adhere to the center’s policies and procedures in the Staff Personnel Manual and Parent/Student Handbook.
• Work to foster a ministry-minded environment and maintain clear communication with Program Supervisors.
• Collaborate with staff and maintain cleanliness in the dorm and surrounding areas.
• Participate in all programmed events and lead activities as assigned by Program Managers.
• Provide information for Treatment Plans and documentation as needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION / SUMMARY

Heartland Girls Academy is a Christian boarding school serving at-risk teenage girls ages 12–17. We are looking for energetic, compassionate, and responsible team players who will commit to meeting the daily needs of teen girls in a residential setting. This position requires the individual to live on campus.On-campus housing is provided as part of the position.

Heartland Academy desires to bring on staff who add to our existing positive, high-character culture. There is a strong focus on professional and personal development for staff. Our program uses an integrated approach to trauma-informed care and spiritual growth for both students and staff.

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for supervising students in a residential setting: this includes but is not limited to knowing where student is at all times, ensure their health, safety, care and wellbeing.
• Adheres to the center’s policies and procedures found in the Staff Personnel Manual and Parent/StudentHandbook
• Works to reach the goals of seeing an effective spirit of ministry to students, appropriate and constant communication with Program Supervisors, deepening relationships within and among the other students, and dignity, support, and encouragement to all staff and students.
• Works as a team player: Provides co-staff with clear, articulate communication over recent events with students, voices concerns, and takes initiative with input and directives.
• Maintains a level of cleanliness consistent with Heartland Academy standards in the dorm, outside the dorm, and in their personal areas.
• Participates in all programmed events and leads different programmed activities as appointed by the Program Managers and supervisors. Responsible to follow daily and weekly schedule
• Provides Counselor with information appropriate for development of Treatment Plans and Reviews.
• Utilizes appropriate forms (Med logs, Student Inventory, etc.) as need to provide necessary documentation.
• Be a person of maturity and demonstrate servant leadership.
• Be a positive example “in speech, in love, in faith and purity.” 2 Tim 4:12

Necessary Skills:

• Maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with others within the context of the Heartland Academy ministry as well as the general public; presents self in a manner consistent with moral issues outlined in Heartland Academy employment guidelines.
• Represents the organization in a manner consistent with its mission and philosophy.
• We will train you in CPR and First-Aid, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)

Requirements
