Job summary

Pecan Valley Mh-Mr Region in Stephenville, TX is seeking a PRN staff member to train adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our life skills center. Location is Stephenville, TX 76401, with a day shift.

You will teach basic self-help and homemaking skills and help participants develop effective work habits and interpersonal skills at the life skills center. A High School diploma or GED is required, along with a valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Texas driver’s license with clear driving record for past 3 years and valid auto insurance.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting of handicapped clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide training to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the life skills center.
• Teach basic self-help and homemaking skills and foster effective work habits.
• Develop/interpersonal skills and support daily activities at the life skills center.

Duties consist of but are not limited to: providing training to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our life skills center, in basic self-help and homemaking skills, effective work habits and interpersonal skills. Work is performed at the life skills center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. If an applicant does not possess high school diploma or GED, they must pass an agency competency exam.
• Must have a Texas driver's license, have a clear driving record for the past 3 years and have a valid auto insurance card.
• Must satisfactorily perform job-related physical and be able to perform routine lifting of handicapped clients.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, sit, stand, push, pull, kneel, and reach overhead and lift.
