Job summary

Indian Rivers Behavioral Health in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking Direct Care Staff to support individuals with mental health and developmental disabilities. These full-time shifts include day and evening hours with every other weekend, requiring reliable transportation and a compassionate, team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, documentation, client transport, meals, and safety procedures, while upholding HIPAA and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
• One year experience in a mental health setting preferred.
• Valid Alabama driver's license with good driving record.
• Must read, write, speak and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for consumers as needed for appointments, errands, and outings.
• Work shifts, weekends, holidays, and overnight as scheduled.
• Document BLS groups and all clinical notes within 24 hours.
• Bathe, feed, dress, and ambulate clients for proper grooming.
• Conduct food inventory twice weekly and dispose of expired food.
• Conduct supplies inventory and general cleaning of facility.
• Perform client trainings as assigned by supervisor.
• Pick-up client prescriptions from pharmacy and accompany clients to appointments.
