Job summary

Indian Rivers Behavioral Health in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking a Direct Care Staff member to provide transportation, assist with daily living activities, and support individuals with developmental disabilities in residential settings. This full-time role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, willingness to work evenings and weekends, and adherence to HIPAA and safety policies.

Training on lifts and clinical notes is included.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
• Current Alabama driver's license and good driving record.
• Must be able to work effectively in a group and serve consumer needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for consumers as needed for appointments, errands, and outings.
• Work assigned shifts, weekends, holidays, and overnight as scheduled.
• Document BLS groups and all clinical notes within 24 hours.
• Bathe, feed, dress, and ambulate clients for proper grooming.
• Conduct supplies inventory and food inventory twice weekly.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform janitorial duties as assigned.
• Pick up prescriptions from pharmacy and accompany clients to appointments.
• Cook meals according to diet and posted menu.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and safety policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve service quality.
