Position Details

GRADE: ASTD10

Location of Position: MDH, Holly Center, Salisbury, MD 21804

Main Purpose of Job

This position is considered a Certified Nursing Assistant, licensed by the Maryland Board of Nursing. It is responsible for providing consistent Active Treatment for individuals residing at MDH-Holly Center, including assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, and providing engagement and training according to the Individual's Plan of Care. This role is considered emergency essential.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or high school equivalency certificate.
  • Experience: Six months of experience in care, treatment, habilitation, or rehabilitation of patients or clients with various needs, including behavioral health or disabilities.

Applicants may substitute experience for education on a year-for-year basis up to four years or military service experience in relevant healthcare roles.

Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications
  • Must possess or obtain a Nursing Assistant certificate from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
  • May need a Geriatric Aide certificate if working in long-term care facilities for the aged.
  • Must have a valid Maryland motor vehicle operator's license if duties involve vehicle operation.
  • CPR certification may be required.
Special Requirements
  • Completion of a direct care training course or exam approved by the hiring facility.
  • Availability for call-in and providing a reachable phone number.
  • Subject to substance abuse testing.
