Job summary

PCA PACE in Big Stone Gap, VA is seeking staff to assist with patient care activities, ADLs/IADLs, and therapeutic activities for participants at the center. The role includes housekeeping, safety monitoring, and supporting activities and field trips to promote well-being.

Compliance with infection control, confidentiality, and reporting procedures is required; the role may involve transport duties and collaboration with the ADHC/PACE team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in health and other therapeutic related activities as prescribed in plans of care.
• Provide direct assistance to participants for the performance of basic Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs).
• Assist in the maintenance of cleanliness and neatness in the center environment including housekeeping chores.
• Record and report vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure and weights.
• Demonstrate infection control techniques by using Standard Precautions.
• Encourage, supervise and help organize recreational activities for each participant; assist with setup and cleanup of activities and field trips.
• Show sensitivity to individual needs and help individuals maintain self-worth and dignity.
• Monitor participants for safety and wellness and report changes to the Center Manager.
