Job summary

Road to Responsibility in Massachusetts is seeking Residential Support Staff to aid individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living, at home and in the community. You will provide care, support and advocacy, while documenting progress and coordinating with families and providers. This full-time role includes a $2,500 sign-on bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Training on medication administration and safety must be completed and maintained.
  • Criminal history background check (CORI) and release of information may be required.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty, with reasonable accommodations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with daily living skills (cooking, hygiene, routines).
  • Provide hands-on personal care and mobility assistance as needed.
  • Attend medical appointments and community activities with individuals.
  • Implement individualized support and behavioral plans.
  • Administer medications per procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment.
  • Provide transportation as required.
  • Complete documentation and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with families, care providers, and team members.
  • Be a positive role model and advocate for those supported.

What You'll Do

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and the internet.
  • Successful completion and maintenance of all state and agency mandated trainings, including medication administration.
  • Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
Language Skills

Must be fluent in English and have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals under supervision, employees of the organization, families, and members of the community.
