Job summary

Compassinterventioncenter is seeking a qualified individual to oversee risk management programs, reporting directly to the CEO. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related fields and at least two years of Risk Management experience.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Oversight of the UHS Risk Management TERM Program.
  • Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and coordinates with the Corporate Risk Manager.
  • Manages incident reporting through the Incident Reporting system and the MIDAS database.
  • Collects, screens, and analyzes all risk-related reports to identify actual and potential risk situations.
  • Facilitates determination of causative factors and refers occurrences for appropriate follow‑up, including Level III/IV events to the Peer Review Committee.
  • Performs risk surveys and inspects patient care areas in conjunction with the hospital’s safety program.
  • Reviews facility, equipment, and product reports to assess loss potential and determine response actions.
  • Participates in committees and education initiatives to promote risk reduction.
  • Manages claims and loss control activities, including contract preparation and claims management.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or other mental health related program. Bachelor Degree required.

Experience: Clinical experience in a psychiatric inpatient facility and knowledge of high‑risk areas preferred. Two years of Risk Management experience.

Certification: Licensed Nurse or Bachelor degree in Mental Health/Social Work.

Skills: Knowledge of hospital operations, risk identification, assessment, and reduction, claims management; excellent written and oral communication skills.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stoop, kneel, sit, stand, crouch, reach, grasp, walk, push, pull, lift and move throughout the hospital to accomplish tasks. Ability to perform repetitive motions and maintain communication under stressful conditions. Computer proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
