Job summary

Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center, a 65-bed adolescent residential facility in Southwest Florida, seeks a Director of Risk Management to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance. The role leads risk management, performance improvement, and staff education within a trauma-informed care framework.

You will serve as Facility Safety Officer, drive data analysis and reporting, collaborate with department directors and the executive team, and implement corporate risk-reduction strategies

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a field related to mental/behavioral health.
• Bachelor's degree required if RN.
• 5 years’ clinical experience in a psychiatric in-patient/residential facility.
• 3 years management or leadership experience in related field.
• Working knowledge of behavioral health management practices and operations.
• Advanced knowledge of state and federal regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Strong knowledge of Joint Commission and regulatory standards.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies.
• Knowledge of crisis and behavior management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and agencies.
• Knowledge of healthcare quality and risk management principles.

Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center is a 65-bed residential treatment facility that provides treatment to adolescent boys and girls, ages 11 – 17. Treatment includes behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric interventions as well as education. The Director of Risk Management is responsible for safeguarding facility assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advancing patient safety and quality of care. The role oversees risk management, performance improvement initiatives, staff education, regulatory readiness, and serves as the Facility Safety Officer to promote a safe and compliant environment.
