Director of Finance, Ambulatory and Joint Venture – INTEGRIS HEALTH

Location: Oklahoma City, OK. Role: Director of Finance – Level II. Provide strategic and operational financial leadership for larger hospitals or markets with complex service lines and expanded operational scope. Senior liaison for financial operations and key partner to hospital, clinical, and operational leadership, collaborating with executive leadership to support decision‑making and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Collaboration – Provide senior‑level financial leadership to clinical and operational support departments (Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, HIM, Accounts Payable, FP&A, Labor Management, and other assigned areas) ensuring cohesive, integrated, and efficient operations across larger or more complex environment.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution – Actively participate in development and implementation of hospital strategic plans, monitor progress toward goals, and initiate corrective action to meet KPIs.
  • Financial Strategy & Corporate Coordination – Partner with system executives and hospital leadership to define financial goals, support growth initiatives, and align hospital‑level operations with enterprise financial strategy.
  • Budget Management & Forecasting – Lead development and oversight of operating budgets, rolling forecasts, long‑range financial plans, and advanced models; manage financial performance and discipline variance analysis; oversee groups with net revenues greater than $300M.
  • Decision Support & Governance Participation – Collaborate with senior management and clinical leaders to inform decision‑making; prepare executive‑level financial analyses and presentations for leadership and governance review; provide guidance for operational, service‑line, and capacity decisions.
  • Compliance & Risk Management – Ensure compliance with local, state, federal regulations and accrediting standards; recommend corrective actions; proactively address regulatory risks.
  • Environmental Scanning & Proactive Management – Scan internal and external environments for emerging risks or opportunities that may impact the hospital’s financial position.
  • Capital Planning & Investment – Develop and recommend short‑ and long‑term capital plans and manage current capital funding within budget.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Represent hospital or market in internal and external committees; support service‑line growth, physician alignment, and performance optimization.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation – Lead initiatives focused on cost structure optimization, revenue performance, productivity management, and service‑line economics; drive standardization across expanded operational areas.
  • Patient and Staff Advocacy – Collaborate with executive and clinical leadership to ensure financial decisions support patient experience, quality outcomes, safety initiatives, and sustainability.
  • Leadership & Team Oversight – Provide direct leadership, mentorship, and succession planning for finance managers and analysts; ensure accurate and timely financial reporting; may oversee revenue integrity and cycle functions.
  • Decision‑Making Authority – Maintain authority for financial decisions within the cost center; recommend decisions to Chief Hospital Executive; approve budget adjustments and resource allocations within limits; report out of scope matters.
  • Reporting Relationship – Report to assigned executive leader; support larger, complex hospitals or markets.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of significant responsibility or experience within a hospital system.
  • Revenue cycle experience.
  • Direct supervisory experience.
  • Proven track record leading cross‑functional finance teams or overseeing multiple departments within a healthcare/hospital setting.
  • Experience with spreadsheets, word processing, and internet‑based tools.
  • Knowledge of current national health‑care policies and trends.
  • Knowledge of leadership, management, and performance improvement concepts.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related business field required.
  • Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, Finance, or CPA certification preferred.

License / Certifications

  • CPA Certification acceptable as substitute for Master’s degree.
  • HFMA certification preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Executive leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience with hospital operational finance.
  • Master’s Degree in related field.
  • CPA Certification.
