Job summary

Laurel Heights Hospital in Atlanta, GA seeks a DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES to lead clinical programs for children and adolescents in residential treatment and acute autism spectrum services. This full-time role oversees program design, compliance, and interdepartmental collaboration with physicians, managers, and clinical staff.

Requirements include a Master’s degree or higher, GA clinical license (LCSW/LMFT/LCPC/CNS), clinical supervision ability, and 5–8 years in behavioral healthcare

  • Ensure that the overall clinical program and unit-based programs are designed and implemented to meet the developmental and treatment needs of the children served.
  • Meets regularly with physicians and program/clinical managers to discuss and evaluate program implementation and needed modification to meet changing needs and ensuring clinical pertinence.
  • Demonstrates competence in and effective implementation of a variety of treatment modalities for child and adolescent populations.
  • Updates program materials/curriculum to best meet the needs of the children/families/guardians.
  • Reviews PI reports, results of surveys, outcome studies and feedback from patients, parents, guardians and outside agencies feedback to modify clinical programming.
  • Assists in ensuring that treatment plans address the reason for admission and reflect the strengths and needs of the child and family.

Responsibilities

Laurel Heights Hospital located in Atlanta Georgia has a DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES (Full-time) opportunity. Laurel Heights Hospital is an intensive Residential Treatment/Acute and Autism Spectrum Disorders Program for children and adolescents. We serve and treat severe and complex psychiatric and behavioral difficulties and co-occurring psychiatric issues. We provide a caring, therapeutic setting with various therapeutic modalities and applied behavior analysis services. EOE.

  • Ensures that the overall clinical program and unit-based programs are designed and implemented to meet the developmental and treatment needs of the children served
  • Meets regularly with physicians and program/clinical managers to discuss and evaluate program implementation and needed modification to meet changing needs and ensuring clinical pertinence
  • Demonstrates competence in and effective implementation of a variety of treatment modalities for child and adolescent populations.
  • Updates program materials/curriculum to best meet the needs of the children/families/guardians.
  • Reviews PI reports, results of surveys, outcome studies and feedback from patients, parents, guardians and outside agencies feedback to modify clinical programming.
  • Ensures that treatment planning occurs per policy and that treatment plans address the reason for admission and reflect the strengths and needs of the child and family.
  • Ensures that Treatment Plan documents and Treatment Plan Updates are completed in a timely fashion (per policy); takes immediate corrective action to address deficiencies.
  • Assist DPSD and physicians to coordinate the Master Treatment Plan meeting and Ad Hoc Treatment Team Meetings.
  • Oversee compliance in regard to quality documentation
  • Provides weekly and ongoing administrative and clinical supervision to Clinical Program Managers and their staff to address unit issues and effective management.
  • Completes annual and ongoing performance evaluations for supervisees that are fair, timely, and accurately reflective of the employee's performance.
  • Assist in ensuring that clinical programs are in compliance with the applicable standards and regulations set forth by the Joint Commission, the Office of Regulatory Services, and all other regulatory agencies.
  • Ensures that pertinent information from unit/department/program staff meetings is communicated to appropriate sources, i.e., CEO, MDs, HR, etc.
  • Handle parent and family issues - communications and resolutions.
  • Uses staff meetings and supervision to exchange information about program needs, changes, or concerns.
  • Listens effectively to the needs and concerns of staff, children, parents, guardians, caseworkers, and referral sources and responds appropriately and promptly.
  • Trains and encourages others to foster collaborative interdepartmental relationships and open communication.
  • Keeps CEO abreast of pertinent information.
  • Understands and maintains the confidential nature of all children, parent, guardian, and facility-related activities.
  • Maintains licensure and related continuing education units.
  • Remains familiar with articles, research, and developments in the field and can apply this knowledge when necessary.
  • Serves as a role-model to all staff re: professionalism, patience, empathy, and effective communication.
  • Recognizes and responds appropriately in prioritizing assignments.
  • Works independently, but seeks help when job requirements exceed limits of expertise.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Master's Degree or higher

  • Experience with Management of clinical and clerical aspects of a behavioral health facility
  • Understanding of GA State and The Joint Commission Requirements and Regulations for Behavioral Health Services
  • Professional Written and Verbal Communication Skills

  • Applicable state laws pertaining to Outpatient BH services
