Job summary

Tampa Electric, a unit of TECO Energy, seeks an experienced project leader to drive the Advanced Distribution Infrastructure (ADI) initiative. You will define outcomes, manage timelines and budgets, coordinate with software providers and partners, and guide change management to ensure successful deployment.

The role requires 8 years of related experience, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and preferably an MBA and Florida PE license.

The Dir Advanced Delivery Infrastructure-ADI l eads the project office for the successful deployment of TECO’s $900M+ Advanced Distribution Infrastructure (AMI) solutions. Works closely with the appropriate business units and stakeholders to optimize business process integration activities. L eads the ADI project team and is responsible for effectively managing both internal and external relationships over the system implementation life cycle, ensuring that project meets strategic objectives and delivers the project and business outcomes.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directs the development and implementation of the ADI initiative. Defines the operational and strategic outcomes of the project and determines the requirements to achieve a successful implementation and achieve the stated business benefits and improvements to both operations & customer experience. Ensures adaptation of best-practices for streamlining and standardizing processes across the organization. Motivates and drives the organization forward to meet agreed company strategy.
  • Directs the project plan, including project deliverables in terms of quality, scope, timelines and budgets/costs in line with project objectives. Manages team resources to achieve the project outcomes. Manages the optimization of the working relationships between the software providers, implementation partner and business/process owners. Guides the process to optimize effectiveness of the ADI implementation and achieve the business objectives.
  • Ensures alignment of incentives and goals for the team to ensure mutual support of achievement of the project and business outcomes. Oversees resolution of issues and issues escalation process to ensure timely decision making.
  • Drives change management efforts to ensure process and business change is effectively executed. Champions change and the implementation of new ideas, effectively managing a change enablement process throughout the implementation life cycle.
  • Oversees the adoption and proficient utilization of the software and processes by team members through training, communication and engagement of leadership across the company. Monitors feedback results and makes necessary adjustments as needed. Provides coaching, mentoring and performance feedback for the implementation team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.

Preferred: MBA or advanced degree.

Experience

Required: 8 years of work experience related to the duties and responsibilities of this position.

Preferred: Utility industry experience.

License & Certification

Preferred: Professional Engineer License in the State of Florida.
