Qualifications

  • Seven years of experience in a U.S. embassy in a political, economic, public diplomacy, or equivalent position.
  • Advanced degree preferred in Foreign Affairs, International Relations, History, Anthropology, or Liberal Arts.
  • Active DOD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills; ability to write to order.
  • Familiarity with academic research standards.
  • Knowledge of the mission and functions of the Department of State.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Collaborative yet independent work style.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential case studies for research and respond to stakeholder requests.
  • Research case studies using diverse sources to develop a detailed, well-sourced chronology.
  • Draft analytical case studies on diplomatic tradecraft.
  • Maintain diplomatic expertise by staying informed of current efforts and goals.
  • Continuously research to enhance relevance of case studies.
  • Develop and maintain professional contacts within and outside government agencies.
  • Maintain record of Lessons Learned.
