Position Title: Dinning Room Manager (Casual Part-Time)

Division: Health Professions, Culinary Arts & Hospitality(DIV)

Job Description

This position is responsible to direct students in service procedures in the dining room.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: JOB SPECIFIC
  • Monitor the set-up of the dining room area according to menu needs.
  • Monitor dining room for correct service procedures and customers’ satisfaction.
  • Monitor dining room tear-down and clean-up.
  • Monitor the set-up operation and closing of wait station according to printed procedures.
  • Tutor and mentor students on operations of Point of Sale (P.O.S.) system; including order placement and guest check procedures.
  • Coordinate the wait staff class involvement.
  • Balance cash box with students at the end of dining operation and post income and sales on appropriate forms.
  • Direct students in service procedures.
  • Assign and rotate service staff table assignments.
  • Resolve customer complaints and respond to special requests.
  • Pre-set for service, the music, and lighting.
  • Place reservations on tables.
  • Serve as liaison between front and back of house.
  • Ensure security of the dining room and equipment during assigned work hours.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a related field required.
  • Dining room service experience required.
  • Prior work performance must have met or exceeded appropriate work standards.
