Job summary

Whitney Oaks Care Center is seeking an Assistant Dietary Manager to support daily kitchen operations and supervise dietary staff. You will help direct meal preparation, verify tray accuracy, and assist with ordering and budgeting, ensuring meals meet physician orders and approved menus.

The role requires strong communication with residents and families, ability to stand for long periods, and readiness to fill in for the Dietary Manager when needed. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDM coursework/certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Solid communication skills with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Familiarity with dietary regulations and patient-specific diets preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Dietary Manager in supervising day-to-day kitchen operations and dietary staff.
• Direct meal preparation and service for regular and therapeutic diets per orders and approved menus.
• Check trays for accuracy before delivery to residents.
• Assist with ordering, inventory, and budget adherence.
• Train, schedule, and supervise dietary staff; fill in for the Dietary Manager when needed.
• Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and storage areas per regulations.
• Support QA meetings, care planning, and health inspections.
