Job Description

Responsible for providing a high quality dining experience for residents and guests. The position involves greeting and seating guests, overseeing dining services staff, maintaining a clean dining environment, ensuring timely service, adhering to safety and sanitation standards, and assisting with menu planning and staff scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Assist Manager with daily supervision of dining services associates.
• Ensure smooth and timely opening and closing of the dining room.
• Ensure room service orders are delivered timely and properly.
• Ensure meals are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Maintain a pleasant and clean environment and inspect work to ensure completion.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards.
• Plan daily menu for residents in accordance with company standards and procedures.
• Assist in ensuring proper staffing coverage for each shift and make changes due to absences.
• Work with Dining Room Manager to produce weekly schedules with budgetary guidelines for service staff.
• Assist service staff during mealtime as needed and greet and seat residents and guests.
• Assist in resident billing of food services charges.
• Oversee staff in absence of Manager and provide supervision for special events.
• In consultation with the Director, Dining Services, hire, train, discipline and terminate departmental employees in accordance with company policy.
• Develop and maintain good working rapport with inter-department personnel and other departments within facility to assure food service is properly maintained and meets the needs of the residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; one year of college or technical training preferred.
• Minimum of one to two years related experience; prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Current ServSafe Certification required; possess or obtain any required local, state, and county food handling or sanitation licenses.
• Basic analytic ability and working knowledge of the organization.
• Outgoing, cheerful, energetic, friendly and organized with strong communication skills.
• Ability to read and write English and follow oral and written directions.
• Capable of walking and standing for long periods of time.

Physical Demands

• Standing, walking, sitting for extended periods.
• Occasional weekend, evening or night work.
• Use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases, blood‑borne pathogens, chemicals, infections or biological hazards.

Base pay will be determined by applicant’s skills and experience. Temporary associates are not benefits-eligible but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program.
