Position Summary
Our Manager-In-Training (MIT) program offers a 20-week interactive learning experience, combining hands-on and computer-based training, covering:
- General Training & Comprehension: Perform and teach kitchen equipment operations, covering dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher roles.
- Leadership Development: Lead small teams in food prep, service, and cleanup.
- Policies & Procedures: Ensure food quality, safety, inventory, and customer service standards.
- Reporting: Maintain records on income, expenditures, supplies, and personnel.
- Training & Quality Control: Oversee staff training, quality assurance, and perform essential job functions.
- Leadership: Manage payroll, staffing, coaching, purchasing, and budgeting.
- Communication: Convey directives effectively to staff.
- Safety: Use PPE, handle cleaning chemicals safely, report issues, and adhere to infection control policies.
- Punctuality: Maintain consistent attendance and respond promptly to communications.
- Customer & Resident Experience: Interact courteously and tactfully, representing HCSG positively.
Qualifications
- Positive attitude, ability to follow instructions, perform routine tasks.
- Leadership skills post-training, performed safely.
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred in food service management or hospitality.
- Food safety management training required, with certification within 14 days.
- Certification as a Dietary Manager or equivalent required by law.
- Achieve Food Service Manager and LTC-FSM certifications within 60 days.
- Experience in food production, service, and supervision preferred.
- Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and reporting.
- Ability to complete sanitation and safety courses if required.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
- Physical ability to lift, push, stand, sit, bend, and work around food and chemicals.
- Reside within the service area.
