Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare in Radford, VA is seeking a dedicated dining services team member to support food preparation, serving, and meal distribution in our clinical kitchen. You will help lead shifts, supervise staff, and maintain high standards of food quality and service.

One year of food service experience is preferred. This full-time role pays $18.00–$22.00 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.

Pyramid Healthcare Inc. has been in operations since 1999 and currently operate over 80 programs in 8 different states, offering a full continuum of high-quality behavioral health care for individuals suffering from substance use disorders, mental health concerns, and other behavioral health issues. Pyramid Healthcare's Culinary Department is looking to hire creative and compassionate individuals who have true passion for food and impacting the lives of others. • Hourly Rate: $18.00 - $22.00/hour (based on education and experience)
• Schedule: full time 40 hours/week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support and promote Pyramid Healthcare's mission, values, and service standards.
• Serve as the lead team member during assigned shifts and assist with daily dining services operations.
• Guide and support dining services staff to promote efficient workflow, food quality, customer service, and operational effectiveness.
• Assist with food preparation, cooking, portioning, serving, and meal distribution activities in accordance with established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
• Provide direction, training, coaching, and support to dining services employees in collaboration with the Dining Services Supervisor/Manager.
• Conduct shift huddles to communicate priorities, assignments, operational updates, and departmental expectations.
• Monitor food quality, food presentation, portion control, and service standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, infection control, and workplace safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen, dining room, storage, and food preparation environment.
• Assist with inventory management, receiving deliveries, stocking supplies, and monitoring inventory levels.
• Ensure proper operation of kitchen equipment and report maintenance concerns or equipment failures promptly.
• Monitor team performance during assigned shifts and communicate performance concerns, operational issues, or improvement opportunities to leadership.
• Address client and staff concerns professionally and elevate issues as appropriate.
• Support employee engagement by fostering a collaborative and team-oriented work environment.
• Promptly report workplace accidents, injuries, incidents, illnesses, and safety concerns.
• Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regard to all company information.
• Completion of all required trainings as designated by the company and accreditation/licensing entities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Licensure, Education & Experience

• One year experience in food service preferred.
