Pay: $15.60 - $18.31 / hour

Overview

Dining Service Associate (DSA) team members are responsible for ensuring the health and wellbeing of our residents by managing food and beverage preparation, meal service, and kitchen/equipment sanitation. They also aim to provide a positive experience to residents while adhering to all applicable regulations.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the preparation and delivery of meals to residents according to department policy and position assignment.
  2. Adhere to residents' diet orders, texture/consistency modifications, and menu preferences during food and beverage service.
  3. Perform all responsibilities of the designated position during scheduled shifts, following safety regulations and standards of practice.
  4. Serve meals to residents in dining areas according to seating charts and tray ticket instructions.
  5. Assist in the care and maintenance of the kitchen environment and equipment.
  6. Participate actively in facility and department staff meetings and inservices.
  7. Communicate with residents and family members regarding meal service quality as needed.
  8. Utilize electronic timekeeping systems as directed.
  9. Arrive punctually and work as scheduled.
  10. Follow the facility's dress code, including wearing a name tag at all times.
  11. Follow policies regarding electronic devices, computers, tablets, etc.
  12. Support and abide by Elderwood’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
  13. Comply with Elderwood’s code of conduct, compliance, and HIPAA policies.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 16 years of age.
  • Employment Certificate/Permit required for applicable individuals.
  • Prior customer service experience.
  • ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Physical stamina for constant activity.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in food service, hospitality, serving, or restaurants is desired.

This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. To ensure a safe work environment and clear communication, the employee must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or higher level.
