Job summary

United Church of Christ Homes is seeking a Dining Services Assistant to support all dining operations in our facilities. The role involves serving meals, delivering trays, and assisting with daily cleaning and event setup.

This full-time position requires adherence to safety guidelines and resident care standards. Weekend and holiday coverage is required with applicable overtime considerations and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service is preferred.
• Ability to follow dining policies and safety guidelines.
• Willingness to work every-other weekend and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals in dining rooms and deliver trays as instructed.
• Check trays for accuracy and dietary restrictions.
• Assist with cleaning duties including surfaces, fridges, freezers and floors.
• Prepare meal trays, carts and dining areas for service.
• Distribute and collect resident menus and deliver food service items.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures.
• Assist with events and special occasions.

The Modified Full-Time (52.5+ hours/2 week pay period) Dining Services Assistant provides assistance in all dining services functions as directed and instructed in accordance with established dining services policies and procedures, including:

• Serving meals in dining rooms and delivering trays, as instructed and in accordance with established portions and dietary restrictions and guidelines;
• Checking trays for appropriateness prior to distribution;
• Assisting with daily scheduled cleaning duties including surfaces, refrigerators, freezers, and floors;
• Preparing meal trays, food carts, dining rooms, etc. for meal service;
• Distributing and collecting resident menus;
• Delivering food service carts and trays to designated areas;
• Performing dishwashing and cleaning procedures;
• Preparing and delivering snacks;
• Assisting in preparation, set‑up, service, and clean‑up for special events and parties;
• Following established safety guidelines and providing a safety environment for residents and coworkers;
• Ensuring residents' right are protected; and,
• Working every‑other weekend ($2/hour differential) and every‑other holiday (Double-Time!).
