Job summary

Hiawatha Care Center is seeking a Dietary Aide to support resident nutrition and dining experiences. You will prepare and serve meals, assist with tray setup, and help maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and dining area.

Part-time evening shifts (3:30PM - 8:30PM or 4:30PM - 8:15PM) with a weekend-friendly pay structure, including a weekend bonus of $5 per hour on Saturdays and Sundays. Benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, PTO, 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Food service, dietary, or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to follow sanitation and safety standards.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform Dietary Aide and Server duties as assigned based on daily operational needs.
• Assist with preparing and serving meals.
• Prepare and serve salads, fruits, dry cereals, cold breads, beverages, and between-meal nourishment.
• Set up meal trays and assist with serving trays to residents.
• Collect trays and assist with meal cleanup following service.
• Wrap flatware in napkins and prepare dining areas for meal service.
• Keep kitchen work areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Wash dishes and maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workspaces.
• Wipe tables following meals.
• Empty trash, sweep, and mop designated areas.
• Help prevent food waste through proper portioning and food handling practices.
• Report equipment repairs and maintenance needs as necessary.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
