Job summary

Covenant Living in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Dining Services Aide to provide courteous service to residents and guests in the Healthcare Center dining areas. You will wait on tables, take meal orders, set up and bus tables, and assist with tray-line preparation, ensuring all duties are completed during each shift.

The ideal candidate will have dining experience and healthcare setting experience, plus a strong understanding of sanitation, HACCP, and residents rights.

Qualifications

• Relevant dining experience.
• One year experience in a Healthcare setting.
• Ability to read, write, speak and analyze.
• Understand sanitation, foodborne illness, and cross-contamination policies; HACCP protocols.
• Knowledge of dining room procedures, etiquette, small wares handling, and residents rights.
• Willingness to work with older adults.

This position is responsible for providing efficient and courteous service to residents and guests as well as performing a variety of services in the Healthcare Center dining areas.

In This Role, The Dining Services Aide Will

• Wait on assigned tables.
• Take Resident meal orders.
• Set up and bus tables.
• Pre-service setup of tray-line.
• Assembling individual meals on tray-line.
• Assuring that all shift duties are thoroughly completed before the close of each shift period.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Relevant dining experience.
• One year experience working in a Healthcare setting.
• Ability to demonstrate effective reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills, required.
• Full understanding and effective application of sanitation, food borne illness, and cross-contamination policies and procedures as well as the use of HACCP protocols.
• Knowledge of dining room operational procedures and etiquette, proper small wares handling, as well as knowledge of residents rights.
• Willingness to work with and interact with older adults.

Compensation Pay Range

$13.73 - $17.76 per hour

Reasonable Pay Estimate

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $13.73 - $17.76 per hour. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.
