Job summary

Position Overview:

The Dining Services Supervisor helps lead the day-to-day operations of the dining room and plays a key role in creating a welcoming, enjoyable, and high-quality dining experience for our residents and guests.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, has a genuine passion for hospitality, and brings positive energy to the workplace. The right person will be comfortable leading from the floor, supporting servers during busy periods, and creating an environment where employees have the direction, training, tools, and support they need to be successful.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily dining room operations and help ensure meals are served in a timely, professional, and welcoming manner.
  • Create a positive and supportive environment where servers understand expectations and have what they need to succeed.
  • Lead, coach, and support dining staff through clear communication, hands-on leadership, regular feedback, and recognition.
  • Set clear expectations and follow up consistently when standards are not met.
  • Build positive relationships with employees while maintaining appropriate leadership boundaries and accountability.
  • Provide exceptional dining experience by anticipating resident and guest needs and responding to concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Bring a warm, energetic, and welcoming presence to the dining room.
  • Assist with hiring by participating in interviews, making staffing recommendations, and helping identify candidates who are a good fit for the team and Clairmont Place.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new employees so they understand service standards, resident expectations, and company policies.
  • Assist with performance reviews by providing meaningful feedback regarding employee strengths, areas for improvement, attendance, professionalism, and overall performance.
  • Prepare and adjust weekly server schedules to provide appropriate coverage and balanced workloads.
  • Use technology effectively, including Cubigo and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Enter and maintain accurate resident meal and delivery charges in the designated tracking system.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, service expectations, and the employee handbook, addressing concerns fairly, consistently, and respectfully.
  • Work closely with the kitchen and dining room teams to maintain smooth communication and timely problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with the Dining Services Director to improve processes, strengthen teamwork, and enhance the overall resident dining experience.
  • Maintain dining areas so they are clean, organized, properly set, and ready for residents and guests.
  • Step in and assist the team when needed, especially during busy periods, while maintaining a leadership presence.
  • Able to train and support team members in using new technology and processes.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting basic system issues, finding solutions, and knowing when to seek additional support.
Requirements:
  • Learn new technology quickly and is comfortable using and teaching others on systems such as Cubigo, Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Sheets.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality, fine dining, restaurant, or food service supervision preferred.
  • Previous fine dining or upscale hospitality experience strongly preferred.
  • A warm, bubbly, and vivacious personality with a genuine enjoyment of working with people.
  • Strong customer-service skills and a commitment to creating an exceptional dining experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coach and motivate employees while also holding them accountable.
  • Ability to balance being flexible and solution-oriented with enforcing policies and standards fairly and consistently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • A team-oriented mindset and a willingness to be hands-on and lead by example.
