Must be knowledgeable of all specials and general description of all food items being served.* Provides service in a friendly and timely manner.* Executes the sanitation process by the following: Washes tables and chairs in the dining room; Sweeps and mops the dining room floor as assigned; Takes trash to the dumpster; Washes dishes and silverware according to dish washing procedures; Puts clean dishes and silverware away; Assists with cleaning of equipment and kitchen as assigned; Maintains clean, neat, and orderly work areas* Buses tables and resets for the next meal service according to established policy and procedure.* Assists with salad bar or dessert preparation as directed* Maintains appropriate, effective communication with residents, and with residents' family and co-workers* Participates in relevant educational and training activities as appropriate* Performs all other duties as assigned or directed**Competency Statement(s)*** Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.* Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.* Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.* Communication, Written - Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely.* Customer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures.* Interpersonal - Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.* Honesty / Integrity - Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.**Skills & Abilities*** Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred* Experience: No prior experience necessary* Other Requirements: Must express or demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population.
