Job summary

Dial Senior Living in Pleasant Valley Township, IA, is seeking a full-time dining associate to assist with serving meals and beverages and maintaining a welcoming dining environment. The role emphasizes compassion for residents, teamwork, and reliable attendance.

The position requires basic English literacy, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to stand for extended periods. Prior food service experience is helpful but not mandatory; training is provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve residents meals, take orders, and assist throughout dining.
• Process orders in the dining area and POS system.
• Provide friendly customer service to ensure resident satisfaction.
• Set up and reset tables for meals; clear and bus as needed.
• Maintain clean dining areas and assist with beverages.
• Support with general dining operations and safety protocols.

Position Overview
The position will assist with serving meals and beverages, bussing tables and cleaning the dining area.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Serve residents meals, take orders, and assist residents throughout all aspects of the dining experience.
• Take all orders and close out orders within the Dial designated point of sale system.
• Provide customer service to residents to allow high level of resident satisfaction while serving meals.
• Set tables for upcoming meals and reset for the following meal.
• Inform residents what foods are available on the day’s menu.
• Address residents by name and their food beverage likes and dislikes.
• Prepare beverages before meals and serve beverage of choice to each resident.
• Keep water glasses and coffee cups and/or carafes filled.
• Clear tables, as needed, throughout meal and bus tables after the meal is finished.
• Vacuum carpet in the dining room after each meal.
• Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations and personnel.
• Report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience And Other Requirements

• Must be age 16 or older

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language
• Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
• Patience and a customer-focused attitude.
• Operation of basic kitchen appliances or willingness to learn.
• Working 3-3.75 hours per shift standing, walking, and moving about without the need to sit down
