Job summary

Hyland Hills Senior Living is seeking a part-time Dining Room Server for evening shifts. You will assist with serving meals, bussing, and maintaining a clean dining area while delivering friendly, patient service to residents.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attentiveness to residents, and the ability to operate basic dining equipment. Prior food service experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be age 16 or older.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
• Patience and a customer-focused attitude.
• Operation of basic kitchen appliances or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Serve residents meals and take orders.
• Close out orders in the Dial POS system.
• Provide customer service to residents for high satisfaction.
• Set and reset tables for meals.
• Inform residents about the day’s menu items.
• Address residents by name and note preferences.
• Prepare beverages and serve drinks.
• Keep water/coffee supplies filled.
• Clear tables and bus after meals.

Position Overview

The position will assist with serving meals and beverages, bussing tables and cleaning the dining area.

• Serve residents meals, take orders, and assist residents throughout all aspects of the dining experience.
• Take all orders and close out orders within the Dial designated point of sale system.
• Provide customer service to residents to allow high level of resident satisfaction while serving meals.
• Set tables for upcoming meals and reset for the following meal.
• Inform residents what foods are available on the day's menu.
• Address residents by name and their food beverage likes and dislikes.
• Prepare beverages before meals and serve beverage of choice to each resident.
• Keep water glasses and coffee cups and/or carafes filled.
• Clear tables, as needed, throughout meal and bus tables after the meal is finished.
• Vacuum carpet in the dining room after each meal.
• Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations and personnel.
• Report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Other Requirements

• Must be age 16 or older

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language

• Patience and a customer-focused attitude.
• Operation of basic kitchen appliances or willingness to learn.
• Working 3-3.75 hours per shift standing, walking, and moving about without the need to sit down
