Responsibilities

• Assist in performing a variety of food preparation and service duties.
• Examine kitchen orders to ensure all items are included.
• Prepare condiments for service and relay orders to servers.
• Deliver food to tables and assist servers and bartenders as needed.
• Check with customers to ensure satisfaction and address issues.
• Maintain clean and orderly kitchen and dining areas; support training and other duties.

Position Summary

Assist in performing a variety of food preparation and service duties including, preparing condiments, checking food orders and taking food orders to patrons.

• Examine kitchen orders ensuring they contain all required items.
• Prepare condiments for service.
• Monitor food preparation and serving techniques to ensure that proper procedures are followed.
• Relay food orders to servers and deliver to tables when necessary.
• Serve food and beverage to members when necessary, prepare or serve specialty dishes and beverages as required.
• Check with customers regularly to ensure they are enjoying their meal and take any necessary corrective action to improve their visit.
• Remove dishes including glasses, plates, silverware and barware from tables and place them in the kitchen for cleaning.
• Maintain kitchen and dining work areas, equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
• Assist servers and bartenders when needed in serving patrons of the restaurant.
• Support country club as needed doing training and other duties as assigned.
• Special projects as assigned by management.

Education & Experience

High-school graduate or GED equivalent required; may be required to obtain licensing in order to serve alcohol. Valid Arizona Food Handler’s Card. Entry level, 1-2 years experience in the service industry preferred. Serving experience preferred. Working knowledge of liquor, wine and other beverages preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Good customer contact skills. Able to interact successfully with a variety of people in person and by telephone. Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as memorization skills in retaining information. Must be confident of skills and have the ability to make sound, independent decisions when appropriate; have the willingness to adjust to and conform to varying schedules; have excellent communication skills; and be able to get along well with others.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while checking orders, using computers for entering and processing orders, have good communication skills (i.e., communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken English). Must be able to lift or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds – maintaining restaurant requires bending as well as carrying and/or lifting materials. Performing movements which require considerable movement of arms, legs and moving entire body such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Must be able to work in a well-lighted, temperature controlled work area. Must be able to see and work with customers and work in open area with other employees. Employee will come in contact with alcohol, cutlery, graters, slicers, ranges, and heat, chemicals and cleaning solvents as necessary.
