Job description

The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Seasonal Dining Room Attendant to join the team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and be part of a stunning property after a $400M renovation (https://www.costar.com/article/749120602/blackstone-completes-400-million-expansion-at-iconic-san-diego-hotel).

Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and features over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas, with 65,000 sq ft of banquet space and 10 food and beverage outlets, including 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.

Marking the expansion of The Del’s culinary experiences, Nobu Del Coronado will be the newest addition, offering over 3,700 sq ft of indoor and outdoor oceanfront dining, including a pagoda bar and sushi bar, featuring Nobu signature dishes like Black Miso Cod and Yellowtail Jalapeño, along with locally inspired dishes and cocktails.

Classification: Full-Time / Seasonal
Shift: Various – must have availability to work weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
Pay Rate: $20.62 per hour
Union Position: This position is part of the Local 30 Union, which requires complete open availability. Schedule and hours are based on seniority and business needs, and may be minimal until seniority is established. You must be comfortable with a schedule that may vary weekly.

What will I be doing?

  • Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare tables for resetting.
  • Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations, including silverware, linens, and condiments.
  • Serve guests with water, assist servers with food & beverage service, and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Transport dirty tableware to dishwashing area.
  • Reset and prepare tables before and after shifts.
  • Keep areas clean and debris-free.
  • Polish glassware, plateware, and cutlery as needed.
  • Assist in serving and explaining dishes, including menu and non-menu items.
  • Support food servers with service of bottled water and other duties to ensure smooth operation.
  • Maintain service standards, clear dishes between courses, and support the team.
  • Service of coffee and hot tea.
  • Move tables as needed for reservations and setup.
  • Carry multiple dishes (up to 6 at a time) without tray service.
