Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Must have or obtain CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
• Experience in waitressing or interest in the role.
• Knowledge of dietary procedures.
• Must read, write and speak English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions in residents' best interests.
• Professional in dealing with residents, families, visitors and staff.
• Ability to work harmoniously with others and handle confidential data.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Follow departmental policies and dress code.
• Report concerns or complaints to the Hostess.
• Participate in in-service education and meetings.
• Orient new employees to the facility and department.
• Assist with equipment and supply needs of the department.
• Maintain table and linen setup in dining rooms.
• Prepare plates, salads and desserts per recipes and menus.
• Prepare beverages for service at each meal.
• Serve residents according to therapeutic diets per menus.
• Bus dishes and return them to kitchen for washing.
• Serve ice cream, appetizers, and beverages to residents and staff.
• Prepare snacks and assist with dinner shows and special events.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
