Dining Assistant - UPMC Washington Nutritional Services

Join our caring dining team as a Dining Assistant at UPMC Washington Nutritional Services. In this role, you will be responsible for meal preparation and service, ensuring patients receive nourishing and appealing meals in their rooms. NOW HIRING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS 16 YEARS OF AGE AND UP! Must have a work permit and be able to work after school from 3:30 PM to 7 PM, as well as on weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Serve patient meals on assigned units, including menu selections, tray assembly, delivery, pickup, and accommodating special requests.
  • Follow established food service protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions and assist dietitians with monitoring patients on special diets or NPO status.
  • Report relevant information accurately to team members.
  • Complete all required technical skills and patient care procedures as delegated.
Schedule

Rotating daylight and afternoon shifts between 5 AM and 7 PM, including but not limited to 5 AM-1:30 PM, 5:30 AM-2 PM, 6 AM-2:30 PM, 10:30 AM-7 PM, and 3:30 PM-7 PM. Rotating days, holidays, and weekends are required.

Qualifications
  • Hospital experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
