Part Time Dining Assistant

Day or Afternoon/Evening Shift | Every other weekend rotation

Ecumen Detroit Lakes is hiring a Dining Assistant. Ecumen Detroit Lakes consists of 101 independent living and assisted living rental apartment homes, as well as 92 nursing home beds and 22 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services.

The targeted pay range for this job is $17.75 - $20 per hour. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay, including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

The Dining Assistant is responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving, and cleanup. Maintains work area in proper order and follows established policies and procedures of the facility while demonstrating high levels of service. Complies with all federal and state regulations.

Essential job responsibilities include:
  1. Provides exemplary service to residents, families, and guests, ensuring all feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service.
  2. Serves meals to residents per diet order and portion size, ensuring all food is served at the proper temperature.
  3. Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe, and efficiently organized work area. Labels, dates, and rotates products, ensuring an adequate, fresh inventory of food and supplies. Operates all equipment safely.
  4. Completes opening and closing duties as assigned, along with routine, daily, and weekly cleaning responsibilities.
  5. Notifies supervisor of any changes in residents' personal health observed.
  6. Responds to resident requests, concerns, or complaints promptly and notifies supervisor.
  7. Partners effectively with others in a demanding and changing environment, supporting all employees as directed by leadership.
  8. Assists with special functions as directed.
  9. Demonstrates respect for facility property and supplies.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • At least 16 years of age
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precautions, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to Know, SDS, ADA, HUD policies, Fair Housing laws, and regulations.
