Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Marysville, Ohio, is seeking a Dimensional Engineer to perform dimensional analysis, develop tolerance stacks, and interpret engineering drawings to ensure designs meet requirements.

The role uses 3DCS to build models, create Pre Tolerancing and Gap Flush documents, run worst‑case, RSS, and Monte Carlo analyses, and collaborate with QA to resolve dimensional issues and improve manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of working-level experience in 3DCS Software.
• 2 to 5 years of experience as a Dimensional Engineer.
• Experienced in developing GD&T from scratch.
• Experience with Tolerance Stack analysis.
• Experience with tolerance simulation, considering parts, weld/install fixtures, assembly order, and process sequence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional analysis and support quality control processes.
• Develop and manage tolerance stacks to ensure parts fit and function correctly.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings and specs for design compliance.
• Support simulation to confirm Process, design, Tooling and Structure.
• Build tolerance analysis models in 3DCS.
• Create Pre Tolerancing, Gap Flush, and Measurement Points documents in 3DCS.
• Develop GD&T with customer and plant input.
• Use Worst Case, RSS, and Monte Carlo methods to predict dimension distributions.
• Collaborate with QA to resolve dimensional issues and improve manufacturing.
• Maintain documentation of simulation process, assumptions, and results.
• Prepare reports for stakeholders.
