Oceaneering International, Inc. in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Dimensional Control Technician to survey piping, machinery, and structures using laser trackers, photogrammetry systems, total stations, and CMM arms.
You will process 3D data with Spatial Analyzer and produce reports for requested activities. The role includes creating models from ship or submarine drawings and generating accurate 3D representations for project teams.
A Dimensional Control Technician (DCT) will have the ability to survey and process 3D data into usable information for requesting activity. This process uses laser trackers (Faro and API), Inca 2 and 3 V-Stars photogrammetry systems, total stations, CMM arms and laser scanners to survey piping, machinery components, and structure. Data is processed using Spatial Analyzer software and reports are generated for the requesting activities. Reports may accept or reject components, structure, machinery installations, and piping bend data. Some surveys require creating a model from actual ship or submarine drawings; this is completed with Spatial Analyzer software or other Modeling Software.
