Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an engineer to support the Accuracy Control & Optical Tool group at the Groton facility. The role focuses on dimensional control in shipbuilding, developing configuration controlled documents, and coordinating with metrology technicians to choose proper tooling for precise measurements.

Candidates should have a BS in engineering or applied math with 0–1 years post-graduate experience, and strong communication skills. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in civil or mechanical engineering or applied mathematics.
• 0-1 years of post-graduate experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop configuration controlled dimensional control documents and procedures.
• Work with metrology technicians to determine proper tooling for the job.
• Review site conditions for 3D surveys and process as-built data for shipyard direction.
• Interface with engineers, Operations, Ship’s Management, and external customers.
