The Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Business Unit (ASBU) has openings for a Dimension Control Technician 3/4 to join our diverse team in Clearfield, UT. This role involves working within the Tooling department as part of the Tool Die Making team, requiring substantial knowledge of the job, an understanding of general and detailed aspects, and the ability to perform advanced functions and solve routine problems.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, thrive in a fast-paced team environment, pay high attention to detail, and demonstrate integrity by self-reporting errors. If you enjoy diverse tasks and high-energy environments, this is the role for you.

Note: This position requires willingness to work any shift, including nights and weekends, and onsite presence due to the nature of the work.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities
  • Lay out, fabricate, and assemble standard and nonstandard tooling, including jigs, fixtures, and gauges, with precise tolerances.
  • Plan work based on design drawings or personal designs, determining methods and sequences.
  • Use optical instruments to check alignment, fit, and adjustments of assemblies.
  • Design holding devices, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Prepare shop drawings and operational sequences for fabrication and assembly.
  • Monitor and verify quality following statistical process controls.

Note: This role may be filled at Level 3 or 4 depending on qualifications.

Basic Qualifications Level 3
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years of related experience in tool building and laser tracking.
  • Experience in reference system creation and build models.
  • Ability to move objects weighing 35 pounds and work in various environments.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security and SAP clearances within specified timeframes.
Basic Qualifications Level 4
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of related experience.
  • Same physical and software skills as Level 3.
  • Same clearance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master-level knowledge of metrology systems (laser trackers, scanners, etc.).
  • 6+ years of Tool and Die experience.
  • Experience in reverse engineering and model building.
  • Knowledge of aerospace structures.
  • Experience with computer-aided graphic interfaces.

Salary Range: $60,800 - $101,400; Salary Range 2: $72,200 - $120,400. Salaries depend on experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Additional benefits may include overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, and long-term incentives.
