Job summary

NC State University in Raleigh seeks a Graduate Digitization Assistant - Special Collections to support access to digital archives. You will prepare materials for digitization, manage equipment and software, and create metadata records for scanned items.

Work includes quality control on images/metadata, transcription of AV materials when needed, and collaboration with production staff at the D. H. Hill Jr. Library. Bachelor’s degree and current graduate student status required.

Qualifications

• Current graduate student status with strong writing skills, ability to pay attention to detail, and work carefully and independently with fragile materials.
• This position requires the ability to work with materials where dust or other allergens may be present.
• Materials may have descriptions of harmful content and/or images of animal cruelty.

Responsibilities

• Assist with digitization processes and metadata creation for archival materials.
• Manage digitization equipment and software and perform quality control on images and metadata.
• Communicate with production staff and assist with transcription of audio-visual materials.
