Job summary

Epiq is seeking an Atlassian Platform Engineer to administer and optimize Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, and Bitbucket across teams. You will collaborate with Engineering, IT, and Product Management to deliver scalable solutions that improve collaboration, visibility, service delivery, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Atlassian products, automation, REST APIs, scripting, and cloud-based identity management within ITIL/ITSM frameworks.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, CS, or MIS or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years administering Atlassian products.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, JSM and Bitbucket.
• Experience with automation and REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement best practices for Jira, Confluence, JSM, and Bitbucket.
• Plan and execute upgrades and migrations with proper handoffs.
• Document projects in run books and maintain up-to-date runbooks.
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, and product teams to improve workflows.
• Analyze incidents and trends to drive continuous service improvements.
• Define SLAs and maintain system documentation.

Job Summary

The Atlassian Platform Engineer is responsible for the administration, optimization, integration, and governance of the Atlassian ecosystem, including Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management (JSM), Bitbucket. This role works closely with Engineering, Infrastructure, Product Management, Agile Delivery, and IT teams to deliver scalable solutions that improve collaboration, project visibility, service delivery, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong platform engineering expertise with workflow automation, systems integration, cloud administration, and Agile process knowledge to drive continuous improvement across the software development and IT service management lifecycle.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Work closely with the multiple teams to design best practices and build stable, highly available and high performing solutions
• The ability to work on small teams to perform all phases of new project builds which includes the initiation, planning, execution and closure/handoff
• Fully document each project in a run book format and perform proper handoffs to the operations team
• Perform major application upgrades and updates
• Work with internal departments for future projects which include kickoff meetings to define scope
• Analyze issue and event trends in a support role for the operations team
• Create, develop, and maintain service level agreements
• Create and maintain up-to-date documentation for all supported systems and provide insight to allow for continuous improvement
• Work closely with IT and non IT associates in a team environment
• Disaster Recovery management and testing

Qualifications & Characteristics

Required Skills:

• Working knowledge of ITIL and ITSM methods
• Hands-on experience with: Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), Confluence
• Experience developing workflows, automation rules, custom fields, and reporting solutions.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, and ITIL frameworks.
• Experience with REST APIs, scripting, and systems integration.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and identity management concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience

• B.S. Engineering / C.S. / MIS degree highly desirable
• 3+ years of experience administering and supporting Atlassian products.

The Compensation range for this role is $95,000 to $105,000USD annually and may be eligible for an annual bonus.
